Cindy Lee Bates

Cindy Lee Bates

Beyond Medical Miracle

“Three months to live,” that is what my friend Cindy Lee was told TWELVE YEARS AGO when her metasitic breast cancer returned.   Now it is in her bones, liver, and stomach, but she continues to live!  Not just survive but LIVE, INSPIRE, AND MOVE COURAGEOUSLY FORWARD with chemo drug after chemo drug, and any experimental treatment offered. ( As you will see in the attached photo, she is a beautiful woman, vibrant, with a twinkle in her eye…still! ) I am not a doctor or cancer expert but based on my research, I think she may well be the longest living survivor of metasitic breast cancer.
She continues to “give back”, doing work for animals, cancer, and even started a women’s golf league, for not so great women golfers, called the Swing Divas. But, through the years, the most incredible quality that I have experienced with Cindy is her positive outlook and refusal to give up or give out.  She simply does not complain.
I have strongly encouraged her to write a book documenting her battle, but she seeks no attention.  Others, both with and without serious illness, could benefit greatly from her story.  It is with this in mind that I compose this correspondence.
Cindy Lee Bates is an inspiration to all women on how to live with grace.  I am honored and proud to have her as a friend and I feel that is a story that should be shared.

Sincerely,
